As the leading institution for security monitoring centers, The Monitoring Association promotes the highest standards for professional monitoring performance. Originally established in 1950 as the Central Station Electrical Protection Association (CSEPA), The Monitoring Association has grown into the industry’s greatest advocate for three key objectives:
1. Reducing false alarms
2. Promoting optimal performance standards
3. Enacting laws and regulations that promote fair competition.
The 5-diamond
designation
The Monitoring Association’s highest honor, the 5-Diamond Designation, is reserved for those monitoring centers that demonstrate distinction in each of The Monitoring Association’s five standards of excellence:
- Commitment to random inspections and quality criteria standards by a nationally recognized testing laboratory such as FM Approvals, Intertek/ETL and UL. ECAMSECURE meets the standards set by the leading safety science advocacy organization, UL.
- Commitment to the highest levels of customer service.
- Commitment to ongoing job-related education and testing by having 100% of its central station operators certified using the TMA online training series. ECAMSECURE’s Command Center operators must be undergoing recertification training every three years.
- Commitment to raising the industry standards through TMA membership and participation in its activities.
- Commitment to reducing false dispatches.
ECAMSECURE’s Command Center has held the 5-Diamond Designation since 2010 and remains committed to demonstrating leadership in monitoring center quality, technology, safety, and client service.
